Its a simple cartoon robotic character, designed and rigged by me. Rig is fully compatible with Softimage XSI 7.0 and up. This rig was used in TVCs for T-Mobile and worked well for several animators, hope it will serve you well too .)
Im not going to do any manual for it, as I think its easy to understand and use rig. Anyway if some people ask for, I will do it.
• IK legs setup with smooth stretching ( thanks to Andy Nicholas )
• More controls for feet
• Facial rig
• You can hide/unhide rig parts.
Select “Base” object and you can control visibility under keying panel
• COG guide ( sometimes it helps, sometimes its useless )
• 2 character sets. One for rig, second for facial rig
…. so what are u waiting for ? GET IT and have a fun.

I have set up this model in maya. I\’m
not big on free rigs but I thought he was
a very appealing character.
I would like to do some animation with
him. Can I have permission to do this.
Unfortunately I have used proprietry
tools for the rig so could\’nt share it.
Is this ok?

Hi Adam,
did you mean mesh for Maya or rig ?
You can download Maya rig done by Alex Puente HERE

Hey this is a really appealing character. The rig in XSI is nice and simple too, although it would be nice to have secondary controls for wobbling the little aerials on the “ears” :) (I’m going to add this myself)
Also as a note: Remember to double check your rotation orders, as the feet and foot ctrls will gimbal lock if the character turns left or right.

Thank you Tuna for your respond. I will check rotation orders.
I have few more ideas how to update rig, hope soon I will get time for it.

Hey man,
I love the character. I found it on creative crash and I loved animating with it. Mainly because it has so many personality and yet its so simple. Here’s my animation.

thanks again. When will you distribute your character on the dreamtalks-animation homepage? :) That looks wicked too!

Thanks Michael
You made very funny animation. You really get his personality. I’m glad you share your work with me.
Talking about the character from front page, I haven’t decided yet. Perhaps, I will rig him in Maya first and then I’ll “let him go”.
